Another 12 months just flew by once again, with few memories of big happenings still in my mind. Sichuan had a very bad earthquake and kill more than 60,000, wiki said it was the 19th deadliest earthquake recorded, I cannot imagine the other 18. It was time for the Olympics and everyone is excited about it, Singapore proudly got another silver but more drama followed. Then came the malemine poisoning in dairy product and other food product that came from China. Then is recession and all the stock market etc. So overall it wasnt a very gd year compared to the previous few.
On a smaller scale, it was also an average year for me with few things to remember and cheer about. Earlier in the year, I recorded a bad loss on one of my investments, so from there I decided to earn money, make money and save money. Well, throughout the whole year, I really did managed to earn money and save money on a monthly basis for my big day coming dec 09.
Another significant event is our preparation for wedding. From talking about it, to planning, to making deposit payments for our venue etc, we have indeed went a long way and have done many things. We argued many times which is not something new and things seems to be stable and we are all ready for the big day. Hope nothing comes out unexpectedly.
A Korea trip in march was also something I will never forget. It was a short 8 days trip but I really enjoyed. It could have been the time when I enjoyed myself the most in the year. oh but wait, another moment which I enjoyed again was the night we spent at Marina Mandarin on 2nd August to view fireworks. It was a special nite for me and her to remember and I really hope we can go back there to relive that moment every year.
2008 is also a year which makes me think alot. I have gone deeper into my thoughts and felt even more depressed at some times. But I managed to pull myself out again from it and start to look at things from a more positive perspective. I have set goals for myself and will concentrate on them, rather than thinking of 'those' things..
1 down period of the year is Doris leaving us. As a christian herself, she returned to her lord and some how Kevin overcame the painful feeling of physical separation. For most of us, it was still a difficult fact to bear. I will always remember her...
I didnt make many new friends, but a few special ones worth mentioning. Yuin was a colleague of mine, we shared many nonsense and she exposed me to alot of new thoughts and thinking, if there is fate, she was brought to me by fate. Eric isn't a new friend, but becoz of some happenings, I felt closer to him and perhaps, we become closer friends than ever. Well, this one isn't really a friend, she's my god-daughter, hehehe.. Bornt on 8th July 08, Desarae is a special girl which I cannot possibly leave out in this 2008.
Well, that quite sums up 2008 for me in a short note. 2009 will be another big year for me, especially my wedding in Dec, I want it to be an unforgettable one for my guest and esp my wife. I hope to fulfill the same resolution of "earn money, make money and save money", and possibly another big dream is to have a home of my own. A job switch at this timing starts to seem wrong, so see how it goes. I have also started to pick up some photography thingy and let's see if I can advance anywhere in that direction. Also hope I can find more meaning in life than all these monetary/physical desires.
